Solastalgia and vulnerable forces
A photographic exploration of the ecological crisis
Through this series, the artist questions the relationship between human beings and nature in the era of the Anthropocene.
Inspired by the pain caused by the degradation of our planet, these images highlight human responsibilities in ecocide. They remind us that we are interconnected with a precarious living system and wish to participate in raising awareness of the urgency of collective mobilization by uniting care, humility and hope for a better future.
Each photograph, taken during walks in the Fontainebleau forest and repeated shots of the horizon visible from his studio, reflects a reflection on the tensions between nature and civilization.
The saturated lines and grids evoke both suffocation and the barriers, real or imagined, that separate us from our environment.
The artist associates his own body and its destruction, notably via MRI scans, in a poignant resonance between individual and universal destruction.
